Spoon and Kool Keith at Wired’s NextFest Show
![]() |
| On Monday night, Wired Magazine presented a Creative Commons benefit show at the Henry Fonda with perennial indie rock favorites Spoon, and rapper Kool Keith of the Ultramagnetic MCs.
The show was a sort of preview for Wired’s NextFest Convention, which starts on Friday. In the lobby of the Henry Fonda, they had several exhibits from the convention– including the super cool dancing robot, Keepon. My friend Mark got us press passes to cover the show for the website he writes for, Digital Media Wire. I took a ton of photos and made a short video, which you can see to your left. Spoon is playing one more show in L.A. (tonight), so if you’re not doing anything– check them out! They put on a great show. Be sure to stop by Wired’s NextFest convention this weekend. It’s like Disney’s Tomorrowland, but rad. They’ve got robots and virtual reality and telepathic ping pong and all that good stuff. |
Having a press pass is fun and fancy. I got to go into that special row for photographers in front of the audience! It was hella exciting. Check out my photos from the show after the jump!

My friend Mark is certain that this vehicle was inspired by South Park.

Speed along the gold-paved streets of Los Angeles in your solar powered car of the future!

All hail the next step forward in robotics, Keepon!
