Elizabeth Garvey

Sultry in their sketchiness, vibrant and pulsating with life, Elizabeth Garvey‘s illustrations and paintings exude a manic passion that carries over to her lovely “monsters,” the handmade plush toys that bring her amiably awkward characters to life. She also runs an amazing found photography blog called Sew Kewl. It’s an endless stream of men in cowboys hats and kids with bowl cuts, effortlessly cool chicks and dudes with handlebar moustaches. Many of these images depict midwestern life in the 70s, a time and place that seems to be inextricably woven into Garvey’s own artwork.
